Date: 21-3-2003
Wim Kok Nominated as President
The Spring European Council has taken the decision to ask the Commission to set up a European Employment Taskforce, the task of which will be to carry out an independent and thorough examination of the main issues relating to employment policy and formulate practical reform measures which will have the most direct beneficial effects possible on domestic reform actions in labour markets. The taskforce will be made up of a small number of high-level experts and should be in a position to reflect the views of all the social partners.
