Round Table Meeting on Corporate Social Responsibility

On the 2nd and 3rd June the second in a series of Round Table meetings on Corporate Social Responsibility organised by the EU Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility took place in Brussels. The meeting focused on two main issues :
- mainstreaming corporate social responsibility;
- the OECD's guidelines for multinational enterprises.
The meeting opened with a presentation and position paper designed to set the scene. The session "Exploring Business Dynamics - Mainstreaming Corporate Social Responsibility in a Company's Strategy, management and Systems" featured two case studies: Hannu Nilsen and Telefonica. The session on the OECD's Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises featured a presentation by experts from the Czech National Contact Point. The second day of the meeting was devoted to three initiatives :
- Responsible care programme for the chemicals industry
- Ethical Trade Initiative Chiquita International
- The Consumer Dimension.
