Model Training Programme: NetJob Hellas

On 1st July 2002, one of the most important aspects of the SDV-NetJob Project began. The vocational training programme for 15 disabled individuals in IT and new technology, and their subsequent job placement is now underway for the first time in Greece and is already showing much promise.

The Model Training Programme of the SDV-NetJob Project entails the transfer of the Danish NetJob training programme for disabled people to Greece. This programme has an 85 percent success rate in job placement for graduates in IT positions in Denmark. The programme does not offer financial aid to participants and is provided with the cooperation of the following project participants:

Fifteen individuals, graduates of secondary and higher education participate in the programme. They were chosen through a process that took into account their prior knowledge in IT and their level of determination to make a career in the IT sector.

The Training Programme lasts for 13.5 months and is comprised of mandatory attendance to three modules of theoretical classes in IT and 2 periods of practical training mainly in IT companies.
