'SDnet' Welcomes Old and New Readers

Date: 01-06-2006
Athens - Ivor Ambrose

Operating under the same name, "SocialDialogueNet" (or SDnet for short) is now re-launched with a new look, new functions and greater depth of information and services. The focus, however, remains the same: to provide the most relevant and up-to date information and background documentation on disability and employment issues in Europe.

We have re-designed and upgraded the website, after examining the interests of our users and taking into account the continuing need for a pan-European view on developments and emerging trends in this area. The new site keeps track of disability issues with respect to five major themes of the European Social Fund:

One of the new, core features of SDnet is a powerful Projects Database containing information about recent and ongoing transnational projects which cover a multitude of disability and employment initiatives.

The database brings together projects from a wide range of EU, national and privately-funded programmes and initiatives including, for example, EQUAL and Leonardo2, making it quicker and easier for interested web users to find what they are looking for. The database can be used to sift through project results, to help discover good practices, benchmarking activities, and finding partners who may be interested in joining new proposals. Coordinators of new projects can also register and upload their data to the database, so as to gain Europe-wide visibility for their activities and results.

SDnet is a dissemination action supported by the European Commission's Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, European Social Fund Article 6 Innovative Measures.

Comments on the site and suggestions for improvements are always welcome. You can contact us via the Contacts page.
