Disability Mainstreaming in the European Employment Strategy (Communication of the Commission, COM (2005) 486 final of 13 October 2005)
13-10-2006, Brussels
This Communication presents the European Commission's thinking about the specific barriers faced by people with disabilities as regards labour market participation. Notably it underlines the importance of Member States taking action, in the context of the revised EES, to improve the employment chances and working conditions of this target group. It also presents a number of 'good practices' in this field which have already been developed by Member States, often with the support of the European Social Fund (ESF) or the Community Initiative EQUAL.
